I have been searching every department store I go to for the USS Enterprise die cast Hot Wheels toy thing, not the refit, and I cannot seem to find it anywhere...is there something I should know, like its production was limited...?

So everytime I am at work and I come across sodium nitrate, it makes me think of Wesley Crusher's experiment or the Borg...if you're a chemist, you'll understand. Anyone else have similar Star Trek "triggers" in their professional lives?

| Battle Frontier |
[11 Nov 2009|09:45am] |
I'm battling my way through the Battle Frontier and doing all right - I've easily defeated all the Brains for the Silver Symbol. However, opponents become more difficult with each round and my progress is slowing down. I notice that competitive battling movesets don't work as well there when you're only using three or less Pokemon in battle. Has anyone else done better with a different team?
I'm currently using a Physical Attacker and two Annoyers/Tanks, but with this generation damage is so great that my tanks often don't survive long enough. And I make use of high IVs and EV training.

| half a lifetime? |

http://journal.neilgaiman.com/2009/11/half-lifetime.html posted by Neil
The editor at CBS Sunday Morning asked if I had any photos of my son Mike back at the period when I first had the idea for The Graveyard Book - late 1985. I looked. We really didn't have any. I wandered next door and asked Mary (his mum, my former wife and for these last five years my friend and next-door neighbour) if she had any photos from back then. "No," she said. Then, "Do you mean those transparencies? I have them in an envelope somewhere." She vanished and came back with a large manila envelope from a long time ago. "Here."
Half a lifetime ago -- literally -- I was nearly 25, and working for magazines. Henry Fikret, who photographed a lot of the interviews I did, volunteered to take some photos of me and my family, and he did.A week later the envelope arrived, and I realised that everything he shot was on colour transparencies -- like huge slides -- and I was never sure what do with them, other than being fairly sure I couldn't take them down to Boots the Chemist and have prints knocked out. So they stayed in their envelope, and they kept their secrets, and were forgotten.
Yesterday I had the transparencies scanned, and finally got to see lots of pictures I had never actually seen before of Holly as a baby, Mike at the time that I would have watched him riding his tricycle around the graveyard, and me... at exactly half my age: A young journalist who had sold a very small handful of short stories and two non-fiction books, with dreams of writing fiction and comics. At the time I was dressing in grey, but was getting tired of the way that you would buy something grey and take it home and discover that it was a blueish grey or a brownish grey, and wondering if I'd have the same problem if I just started to dress in black.
And half a lifetime on, it seemed like it might be good to put one up here. I checked, and Mary didn't mind. What odd clothes we wore back then. What big glasses. And look, my hair is practically normal.

So long ago, and it went like the blink of an eye. ...
Birthday wishes are flooding in from around the globe. I wish I could reply to everyone personally, but it would take the next 365 days... so thank you. Thank you all.
... In January I will be part of a free concert for all ages on January 16, 2010, at 7pm, in the World Financial Center Winter Garden, New York. I'll be the narrator for the performance of Peter and the Wolf, performed by the http://www.knickerbocker-orchestra.org (whose website you should visit to get details).
Alan Moore is leaping aboard the Underground magazine bandwagon. Following the success of IT and OZ, Alan's Dodgem Logic is coming out. There's a great interview with Alan at http://www.mustardweb.org/dodgemlogic/
(And enormous congratulations to Alan, who is now a grandfather, and to Leah and John, who are now parents, and Edward Alec Moore-Reppion, who is now, um, born. A Scorpio, like his grandfather and his whatever-exactly-I am, sort of honorary great-uncle or something. Not that we Scorpios believe in that sort of thing, of course.)
Again, thank you all for the birthday wishes...

I posted about the woman who was selling pokemon stuff. I am sorry to say that instead of coming to me, she had a yard sale :/ I am really sorry. She wasn't that bright anyway and she overcharged alot of stuff.
( how the hell is this 75 dollars? )

Hey guys. My friend recently lent me Pokémon Channel (the one where you can get a Jirachi upon completion) Through semi-clever tactics I hope to get loads of Jirachis. Saving just before Jirachi on memory card A, copying save to memory card B, getting Jirachi with memory card B, deleting the save, then copying the save from memory card A onto B again. Has anybody out there tried this but failed? If this works I'll probably just give them away to you guys for popularity cool Pokémon just because I'm kind. Also I am in need of a good team and being the annoying strategist that I am, I feel sick if I haven't got a good plan. So please, tell me your opinions on a good team. You can find the candidates here @ eccentricways Thanks guys ;D

So a couple of months ago I decided to make a good enough team of pokemon that could try to take on Palmer (Diamond version not Platinum.) From those encounters I've learned that his Rhyperior is an jerk, his Milotic is a hoe, and his Dragonite was a bastard. I get up a team of Metagross, Ninjask, and Salamance and get to his last pokemon (Dragonite) just to lose to some status effect. Now I read up a bit on some and end up with a team of Gengar, Dragonite, and Snorlax. Then I lose again. Fast forward 5 attempts later. I get a team of Starmie, Ninjask, and Tyranitar. Starmie OHKO his first one, 2HKOs his Milotic, and then OHKOs his Dragonite. I am dumbfounded how easy that was considering how much he screwed me over before. Sweet revenge never felt so good though.

Today I checked the GTS; I posted up a Zapdos, hunting for a level 50+ Vespiqueen. Not a bad trade, right? Considering the Zapdos was nicknamed RYANCORTME!?
In came a shiny Vespiqueen. I freaked out with excitement... Then I looked at it's stats. It's level 54, caught at the pokémon league, and it's ot? AARON. With all of Aaron's Vespiqueen's moves. *headdesk* The trainer stole Aaron's Vespiqueen >.<
So, I wanted to spark a discussion about the worst hacks you've ever recieved over the GTS. Maybe a shiny level 1 Arceus swam into your inbox? Or a Mewtwo caught in Hoenn at level 45?
Enjoy!

| A Collector in a Battle? This spells disaster. |
[10 Nov 2009|10:37am] |
So someone traded me a few pokemon on Bulbagarden, then they wanted to battle. I felt obliged to do so, because they clearly got the shit-end of the stick on the trade. I know next to nothing about battling, so I'm just sitting here, waiting to die. I feel like a bastard, because my Internet failed right at the end of the battle, when he was about to win. D: So we started again. :/
Now I've a mind to make an EVd battle team! I assume one's team is best set up as thus? I really don't know.
One physical sweeper (+Speed demon) One Sp.Atk sweeper (+ Speed demon) A Physical wall A Sp.Def wall One trapper/tank And one evil little bastard
Once I know this, I may be able to cobble something together. Damn, but I hate battling. I really do.
